Dr. Roy D. Farmer, Jr. has, throughout his years of ministry, served in many leadership positions in Southern Baptist churches such as: music, youth, education, and associate pastor. He has served the last 19 years here at NorthWest Bible Church where he is the Pastor of Pastoral Care. Dr. Farmer has a Bachelor of Music degree from Louisiana Tech University, a Master of Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Dr. Farmer has been married to his wife Linda for 44 years. They have one son, Roy D. Farmer III (“Trey”) (36), a young businessman who lives in Istanbul, Turkey.
Dr. Farmer has published numerous articles with the Southern Baptist Convention, is a guest lecturer for S.W.B.T. Seminary evangelism classes, co-authored several youth manuals, authored the book, “When a Death Occurs in a Family,” and is the originator of Between Jobs Ministry (BJM), which is used as a model for churches and organizations all over the country.
