Amy joined the NWBC staff in January, 2009 as part of the Student Ministries team. Her specific ministry focus will be Jr. High and Sr. High girls.
In her own words…
"By God's grace, I came to know the Lord at a very young age, while my family was serving as missionaries in Hong Kong. My father has been in vocational ministry my whole life, but I did not feel a strong calling to follow his example until college. I am so glad God has called me to NWBC and I can't wait to see how He will use me for His glory." Amy went to Baylor University and majored in English and minored in religion. It was during those years that she developed a heart for ministering to young women, and did so as chaplain of her sorority, a counselor at Pine Cove, and a small group leader at her church.
After graduation, she moved to Ft. Worth to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to become better trained for her calling. Amy continued to serve at her local church as a high school Sunday School teacher and worked as a high school intern during the summer.
Amy moved to Houston to be closer to her fiancé (now husband), Lee, who is in law school at U of H.
She served as a youth associate at a local church while finishing up her M.A. degree at Southwestern's extension campus in Houston.
